Intensive Therapy Program
Accelerated Trauma Healing in 1–3 Days with EMDR & Brainspotting
Some experiences leave an imprint that talk therapy alone can’t quite reach. You may have insight, self-awareness, and years of effort behind you—yet still find yourself triggered, overwhelmed, or stuck in familiar emotional loops.
Weekly therapy can be meaningful. But sometimes, you’re ready for deeper, faster movement.
Our Intensive Programs offer a focused, immersive alternative. Using EMDR and Brainspotting, we help your nervous system process what it has been holding onto—efficiently, safely, and with care.
At A Road Through in Sherman Oaks, we offer trauma-informed EMDR and Brainspotting Intensives for clients across Los Angeles and California who are seeking accelerated healing, clarity, and real forward momentum.
What Is an Intensive Program?
An Intensive is a structured, extended-format therapy experience that compresses months of trauma work into one, two, or three consecutive days.
Rather than processing in small weekly increments, intensives allow your brain and nervous system to stay in a deeper healing state—often creating meaningful shifts in a much shorter period of time.
Each intensive is thoughtfully customized based on:
Your history and goals
Your nervous system capacity
The nature of the trauma or patterns you want to address
You’ll receive:
Longer processing windows
Dedicated preparation and resourcing
Regulated breaks to support integration
A calm, private therapeutic environment
A clear post-intensive integration plan
Many clients report significant relief and clarity after a single intensive.
EMDR & Brainspotting: Two Powerful Paths to Healing
Our Intensive Programs may use EMDR, Brainspotting, or a combination of both, depending on what best supports your system.
EMDR Intensives
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) helps the brain reprocess traumatic memories that remain “stuck,” reducing emotional charge and allowing adaptive beliefs to take hold. EMDR is highly structured and well-researched, making it especially effective for both single-incident and complex trauma.
Brainspotting Intensives
Brainspotting is a more somatic and neurobiological approach that works directly with the body and subcortical brain. It often allows for deeper processing with fewer words and can be especially helpful when trauma feels preverbal, hard to articulate, or stored primarily in the body.
Your therapist will collaborate with you to determine which modality—or blend—will be most supportive for your intensive.
Who Intensive Programs Are For
Intensive Programs are well-suited if you:
Are a high-achiever or professional with limited time for weekly therapy
Want deeper results without months or years of appointments
Feel stuck or plateaued in traditional weekly therapy
Have a specific traumatic event you want to process
Are working through childhood or attachment trauma
Experience anxiety, performance blocks, or fear of failure
Prefer an immersive, private healing experience
Live outside Los Angeles but can travel for focused care
You do not need to be in crisis. Many clients choose intensives because they are ready to heal intentionally and move forward with clarity.

What Happens During an Intensive
Every EMDR Intensive follows a predictable, supportive structure so you never feel rushed or overwhelmed.
1. Pre-Intensive Planning
A 60–90 minute assessment session to clarify goals, history, and treatment focus. You’ll receive preparation resources to support emotional regulation beforehand.
2. Intensive Days (1–3 Days)
Each day includes:
Nervous system regulation and grounding
Resourcing and preparation
EMDR and/or Brainspotting processing
Intentional breaks for integration
Reflection and stabilization
A typical day lasts up to 6 hours, paced to your system’s needs.
3. Post-Intensive Integration
After your intensive, you’ll receive:
A follow-up integration session
Personalized grounding practices
Optional written reflections or themes
Guidance for continued therapy if desired
Healing does not stop when the intensive ends—we help you sustain the progress you’ve made.
