Permission to Heal the Human Behind the Perfectionism
Hi! I’m Destini, an Associate Therapist with A Road Through, based in Sherman Oaks and offering virtual therapy throughout California.
I’m passionate about helping women, young adults, and high-achieving individuals navigate anxiety, burnout, grief, identity shifts, and relationship challenges while reconnecting with themselves in a more grounded and authentic way.
My therapy space is warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental — a place where you can slow down, process what’s weighing on you, and begin building a life that feels more aligned, fulfilling, and emotionally sustainable.

I specialize in working with high-functioning individuals and those rebuilding their sense of self through life’s transitions. Those who often thrive on paper but feel disconnected from themselves, emotionally exhausted, and unsure of who they are outside of productivity.
My Areas of Expertise
Women healing from unhealthy and emotionally abusive relationships
Grief, heartbreak and identity loss after breakups
Burnout, perfectionism, and high-achieving exhaustion
Anxiety and emotional overwhelm
Mental health support for injury recovery
Mental health support for competitive athletes working to eliminate performance blocks while working toward the next level of competition
Self-discovery support for former athletes grieving the identity, purpose, and community after sport
These specialties resonate with me deeply. I know what it’s like to have your entire life shift in a split second, to lose yourself inside of a relationship, and to rebuild from the ground up while the world around you continues on.
So many of us have spent years prioritizing achievement, caregiving, and expectations over our own emotional well-being. I want you to know that you don’t have to earn your worth through exhaustion or constantly holding everything together.
Healing helped me reconnect to myself, and I want to offer you the same opportunity.

Therapy with me is a space where you don’t have to perform or show up with things figured out. In our sessions, I’ll help you finally step away from intellectualizing the hard things because I believe that growth can only happen with a direct, honest, and grounded approach. I will always show up authentically so that you feel safe doing the same.
My direct, trauma-informed approach combines:
Mind + body connection to uproot emotions so you stop feeling stuck
Real-time emotion-focused work that goes beyond talk therapy to create
Identity reclamation to get back to who you are beneath your roles
Practical skill building for self-awareness, self-advocacy, and boundary setting
Together, we’ll go beyond insight and work to understand your patterns, what you’re feeling, and where it all lives in your nervous system. That includes getting to know the different parts of you. The high-achiever, the people pleaser, the strong friend, the resilient one. Whatever your parts, we’ll explore where they came from, why they developed, and whether or not they still serve you today.

I didn’t always want to become a therapist. For a long time, I was building a life in design. But before that, I spent years as a competitive figure skater, and like many high performing athletes, so much of my identity lived inside that sport.
As a Latina, I always straddled two worlds, forcing me to learn how to adapt, perform, and compartmentalize in spaces that didn’t always reflect my sense of being. This is where I developed my ability to look as though I had it all together.
Everything changed when I suffered a traumatic brain injury due to a car accident.
It was during this time, the most painful stretch of my life, that I was able to finally stop running on autopilot, reclaim my identity outside of a high-achieving career, and come back to myself, thanks to therapy.
The reason I rerouted my entire life to become a therapist is that I know how transformative it is to finally rest after experiencing:
The loneliness of silent struggles
Losing yourself in achievements and relationships
Grief after a breakup
The isolation of healing an injury while everyone else moves on
The identity shift that comes when your life pivots in unexpected ways
My healing didn’t come from achieving more, having the right answers, or being able to name my feelings. It came from giving myself permission to finally take up space.
